The Brojects Way To Make Beer Bottle Glasses

Cutting glass can be a difficult thing to do on your own. It requires a little bit of ingenuity and a lot of science. In this webisode, Kevin and Andrew show you the Brojects way to make beer bottle glasses.

There are lots of ways to cut glass. Kevin and Andrew used castors screwed to a block of wood and a cutting blade from a box cutter to cut their bottles.

To score the bottle, make a nice line around the bottle, exactly where you want the break to be.

After scoring the bottle, heat the line you drew with a flame.

You can also use a torch, but you risk breaking the glass with high heat. Or you can also do it the Brojects way and have some really hot water on hand.

After scoring the bottle, put it in cold water or ice.

Like true Canadians, Kevin and Andrew dip their heated bottle in snow.

It might take a couple tries. It’s the going back and forth between the heat and the cold that will pop the glass bottle in the exact place where you scored it.

Once you finally have your glass cut, remember to sand it.

It’s going to need a lot of sanding to smooth down the rough edges.

You don’t want to cut your lip and you don’t want bits of glass to end up in your drink, as Kevin and Andrew learned.
