Inspiration has hit the boys on this project: what if they combine a smoke shack with a bourbon bar? The smoker is the perfect 'smoke screen' that will allow the bros to hit the bar while their wives think they are working hard on preparing food for dinner.

Project Steps

Step 1

Where there’s smoke, there’s fire. But there’s also the opportunity to infuse woodsy flavors into food during those drab winter weekends at the cottage.

Like all of our projects, we’re going to take this smokehouse up a notch. Smoking food is a long process and can take many hours, so we want to build a man-cave around the smoker that’ll make that wait seem like no time at all. Our smoker will include an integrated heating system that’ll keep us warm during the winter but include a rotating baffle that will deflect the heat during the summer. The ideal beverage to whet (and wet) our appetites for the smoked delights to come is, of course, whiskey — so we’re adding a bourbon bar that’ll nicely complement the backwoods surroundings.
