Time Required: A Long Weekend (Three days)
Difficulty: Depends on how much wood you have

With their current fixed dock rotting away, brothers Andrew and Kevin retreat to the drawing board eager to fix the situation and build their dream dock. They quickly come to the conclusion that their new floating dock will need to be self-propelled so that it can be moored both at the shore as well as in the middle of the lake where the swimming is prime.

Project Steps

Step 1

Brainstorm and plan the design of your swim raft. A beer and a bro will help with this process. For the Ultimate Swim Raft, you’ll want to think about amenities like a trap-door cooler for drinks and food, an onboard BBQ for cooking up a fresh catch, cedar boxes that double as seating and storage, a pergola for shade, an anchoring system, hooks for fishing rods and a hammock to lay on. An electric trolling motor would be nice too. It would be even better if it was solar powered.
