The Ultimate Toboggan
Old man winter has returned to the cottage and brothers Andrew and Kevin are hot on his heels for a weekend of frigid fun. Harkening back to yesteryear, the bros land on their weekend project: a toboggan designed to recapture some of their youth --but tricked out with adult amenities, including an ingenious contraption to take all the hard work out of getting rider and sled back up the hill. But as they soon find out, going up the hill in the Ultimate Toboggan isn't going to be the problem... it's coming back down in one piece!
Step 3
We love to recycle and often use items, old and new, from around the cottage. This project is no different as we’re using some old car seats and a trailer hitch carrier to build the toboggan. Everything else you’ll require is listed below, and much of it is available from the nearest building supplies or hardware store:
• Old skis
• Lumber
We suggest you use the lumber calculator included with the Brojects App (free for iPhone and iPad) to calculate the amount you will need.
• Trailer hitch carrier
This is for the base of the toboggan where we’ll mount our seats.
• Old car seats (x2)
• An old chemical case
• Capstone winch attached to a chainsaw motor
• Rope
• Storage box
• Helmets
• Headphones and music
It’s a slow ride up. You’ll need some entertainment.
