Last year, Andrew and Kevin, together with their engineer pal Walker, set out to build a playground at their cottage property for the kids. But what they came up with was unsafe, unattractive, and ultimately unused. With pride on the line, they‘re determined to redeem themselves this time around -- or else face the scorn of their wives again -- by tackling the quintessential kids project: a tree fort.

Project Steps

Step 7

We installed plywood for the walls of the upper level, cutting out some holes in the wood for windows — actually repurposed glass patio doors. We cleared the ground so we can insert a level landing pad for the stairs. To create the stairs, we utilized the Stair Building Calculator on the Brojects App to precisely calculate how many steps were required to go from the landing pad to the upper level, and how high and how deep each step needed be. Lastly, we decorated the outside of the plywood with wood shingles to give it a polished look.
