The Cottage Workshop
Necessity is the brother of all invention and there’s nothing that we need more than a workshop at the cottage. The biggest challenge is going to be figuring out how to make this massive two-and-a-half ton repurposed shipping container fit into the natural surroundings.
Step 5
The next step was to build a level platform in front which we would serve as our work area. Our original plan was to rest our “sea can” on top of this frame and to have it extend out into a small deck. We later abandoned this plan and turned the area that would’ve been the foundation of the shipping container into deck space instead, a move that effectively doubled our work area. At the same time, we also started framing out the deck for the rooftop patio.
