The Ultimate Football Lounge
Football season is in full swing and brothers Kevin and Andrew have big plans for the season-ending showdown. But instead of going to the game, they're going to bring the game to the cottage. With a sizable contingent of football friends geared up for a tailgate party, the race is on to create the Ultimate Football Lounge -- an outdoor space protected from the elements complete with comfy insulated sofas made from repurposed wooden pallets, motorized beer coolers, gridiron challenges, and enough food to fill a stadium.
Step 3
For this project, you may have to take a look back into the Brojects archive. We like to recycle and in this particular build, we utilize the Ultimate Outdoor Theatre. Everything else you’ll require is listed below, and much of it is available from your local grocery store or the nearest building supplies or hardware store:
• Full Pallets
You’ll need one pallet per seat.
• Lumber
We suggest you use the lumber calculator included with the Brojects App (free for iPhone and iPad) to calculate the amount of lumber that you’ll need.
• Large canvas/sail/parachute
This is for the overhead canopy to keep our crowd dry in wet weather.
• Ropes and hardware, including turnbuckles
• 2″ or wider diameter PVC or ABS plumbing pipe with fittings
For the field goal uprights, along with the pipe, you’ll need one ‘tee’ fitting plus two 90 degree elbows, or four 90 degree elbows.
• ABS/PVC cement
For gluing together all the pieces for the field goal uprights.
• Metal stake
It’ll need to be long enough to be driven deep into the ground but still have have plenty to act as a support for our field goal uprights.
• Projector and screen
Or a very, very large television.
• Remote control car
To power the remote control beer cooler.
• Cardboard boxes
Simple cardboard boxes will make up the structure of our Bro Bowl food stadium.
• Food
You’ll, of course, need plenty of salad, hummus, chips, dip and sandwiches to fill our Bro Bowl food stadium.
• Colored duct tape
To decorate our Bro Bowl food stadium.
